About
Hope Anew Rescue(HAR) Center is a Non-Governmental Organization(NGO) based in Kenya. Founded in 2024 by Romana, the HAR center is governed by seven board members who are passionate about helping victims of domestic violence while advocating for an end to ending domestic in Kenya.
HAR Center empowers survivors with resources to restore their physical and mental health, and economic and social well-being, and provides them with safe shelter while working towards independence. The Organization’s goal is to ensure they are protected from violence and allowed to succeed.
The organization’s objectives are :
- To create public awareness and advocate for policies to change the culture that perpetuates violence against women.
- To provide safe short-term shelter for the women to escape abuse and get back on their feet.
- To provide support for women who have experienced domestic violence or are at risk of male violence through awareness of their human and legal rights.
- Empower women survivors through skills training to strengthen their financial security.
- To help women living in abusive relationships break free by linking them with essential service providers to seek emergency help (shelters, hotlines), as well as treatment, counseling, and legal support.
- To empower victims through education and enrichment programs to instill self-esteem and confidence enabling them to make sound personal decisions and protect themselves.
