Advocacy and Community Awareness Program
This program works to prevent gender-based violence by transforming community attitudes, strengthening local responses, and increasing public awareness of the harms of FGM, child marriage, domestic violence, and femicide.
Through community dialogues, public campaigns, school and church forums, health-center information fairs, and partnerships with local leaders and organizations, we:
- Educate communities on the physical, psychological, and social impacts of gender-based violence on women, girls, families, and society.
- Promote girls’ rights, bodily autonomy, and the protection of life and dignity.
- Increase awareness of available support services and legal protections for survivors.
- Reduce stigma and silence surrounding victimization, encouraging survivors and those at risk to seek help without fear or shame.
Our goal is to build informed, protective communities that actively prevent violence and stand with survivors.
Different ways to advocate
Advocacy can take many forms, and even small actions can create meaningful change. Here are some ways you can support social justice in your community:

- Start conversations with friends, family, and colleagues about challenges such as family relationships, financial hardship, and unemployment.
- Share information about local support services through community notice boards or social media platforms.
- Amplify voices by sharing posts and resources from social justice campaigns.
- Reflect and discuss news stories related to social justice with colleagues, friends, or neighbors.
- Express creatively by creating and sharing artwork, poetry, or other creative pieces that explore the causes or impacts of social injustice in your community.

- Check in on your neighbors, especially those who may be vulnerable.
- Speak up when you witness shouting, abuse, or disrespectful behavior.
- Offer emotional or practical support to people facing mental health challenges, financial hardship, unemployment, illness, or family difficulties.
